Spring!:

With the garden planted and ready, the days growing ever warmer, I do feel ready for the approach of summer for once. It could be that I've finished majority of what I wanted to do this month, including some more self indulgent artworks, or maybe it's just that things are blooming and flowers are out. Or a mix of both. I do also know that, switching to another new month here soon, gives me a bit of anxiety. It usually means or feels like I'm watching things, like my content, go unchanging. While it pleases me and this story is largely to please myself, I do still wish for it to reach others. To share these characters with others and maybe inspire some people or artists. I do and have had the privilege to be told I have done so with some in the past. I just largely wish I had more of a reach, but with how internet and socials are these days, it's a difficult matter to accomplish. It requires far too much luck and chance and connections and I have none of those. Definitely not the finances to advertise or anything either, but who knows, maybe one day I can save enough to advertise somewhere for a wee bit. Of course, I would want this site to be more up to par before then, so maybe, once I finish Book 1, I can try to manage that and save up a bit more.

On the upside, I do have a small job I can take on again. Things I'll only reveal early to patrons and it should help me make some money on my own for a wee bit rather than heavily relying on commissions and begging around for work. That also means I can open an extra slot or two for patron rewards as well. I do hope to make a few adopts while YCHs go on hold for a bit during this work time. If all goes well, things should flow nicely and May should kick off nice too for patrons. I'll work these last few April days as best as I can!

Holding on Time For Now:

For once, I have all the comic pages for Parallel Rift I generally want to complete each month, done. I'll be working on the other comics as well and a couple other things for patrons this week too. The main goal will be complete any remaining owed work. There's a few things left, but I do feel like I can make it. I've been concentrating better and holding much better focus on tasks than I have been. The work to get this far sure is well...work, but for me, necessary if I'm to reach my artistic goals one day. Especially to being able to post 2x a week.

I do also hold onto the plan that once this chapter and book 1 of PR is done, I'll take several months off. The hiatus for PR then while I work on book 2 I plan thus far to be around 8 months, maybe a full year. This will give me time to do a bunch of buffers AND fix up the current pages and this website. I've wanted to update this website for awhile now, but because I've been playing catching up for so long, it just hasn't been able to garner the attention it needs. I'll get there. In terms of numbers, I still have around 30-40 pages left of Book 1 for Parallel Rift to do. This is also including an epilogue, not just this current chapter, so there's still a bit of work, but I feel I can make it. I may still about a month behind in terms of page creation, but I do feel one of these months, I'll get the hang of things and really whip out those pages and catch right back. 

In other news, it is finally starting to warm up a bit around here too so I'll be preparing plants for the garden. I'll be trying again for a few vegetables, to see if I can get things to grow a wee bit better than they did last year. I wasn't paying attention much to time and such last year, so going to try much better with that this year. I'll at least start prepping the seeds and I'll go from there. I did also purchase some more chili rasbora for my fish tank so the group in there feels more at comfort being a larger group. The shrimp are multiplying like crazy and I probably have at least 10 female holding eggs, so that's a lot of new kids on the way. Some interesting colors have been popping up with those starting to hit their juvenile stages, so it's been interesting.

Moving Right Along:

Finally getting some pages done ahead of schedule, so creating a very slow of sure, backlog. Once this section of PR is done, I'll be going back to the edits that I started last year and clean things up before I move onto Book 2. It's taken me this long to see the end of Book 1 being so close, but we're going to get there! I do look forward to the events after this as they will surely be a bit more exciting than this current arc. The plot will thicken and the action will only increase as more unfolds and more is revealed! It's exciting to me so I hope you guys will enjoy it too. I think, at least if I estimate out properly, Book 2 will begin some time in 2026, so getting there. It should be nice.

In other news, I have reached this month's merch fund goal!

The YCHs for this month had been a huge success and have become terribly helpful in allowing me to sustain this goal until I can convince more patrons to join in the future to help stabilize this even better.

It's still going to be a busy month, so back to work for me and cranking things down and out as best as I can!

A Few More Hiccups:

Of course, as soon as the merch arrived on the 2nd and I was ready to prep and send it...I realized the sticker sheets were too big for the envelopes I had so I had to order some envelopes too. I worked it out with the current Mail Club patrons so it'll be all right, but I can't believe I snoozed while ordering and missed the sticker sheet size. I'll have to pay more attention. May even turn paranoid about it after all these errors >.< Hope not.

Anyway though, so far, I'm slowly but surely catching up with comic pages. Currently I'm just staying on top of it but I would like to build some buffers. I've at least been going through owed work at a decent pace and just have a little bit more left before I can close commissions this month. I mean, look at this, this early in April! It's honestly pretty amazing and once that goal is reached, I'll be ordering this month's merch asap!

I think I'll be alright. Still waiting on a couple funds to come in so I'm sure once those process, it'll be perfect! Otherwise, the goal this month is to hammer out as many comic pages as I can and work harder than previous months so I can relax a wee bit come May and do some more outdoor things.
