Much Better:

For once, this month was pretty sound in terms of work. I actually completed everything that was top necessary within the first 3 weeks, leaving this final week to complete any extras and for once, actually prepare for June. I even set up and did some pages early to try to catch up with the pages I've not managed to do from my schedule. If I can keep this up once more, I know I just may be able to pull ahead and be in quite a good spot. June is already shaping out to be a busy month and there's some Pride things I do want to complete as well to add to that list. I feel ready though. Less burdened than I may have in prior months, especially with all that has happened this past year. It feels good to find a rhythm again and focus, putting me closer to the goals I'd like to be in. In a few months time, I may even have answers toward I can no longer see with my art and skills and even improve things financially. It's largely what I feel is left, especially the financial aspect. If I can lessen that burden even just slightly, sell my art for the prices I know they should be at rather than way underpricing them, then instead of doing say, 5-8 smaller commissions to make up funds I need, I just do 1-2 and that covers all my fees for that month!

The only reason I could even push to sign up for a mentorship that seemed more appropriate to me was because of the generosity I've had lately and through my own hard work of keeping at those cheaper commissions. It does require a lot, but if I want to do better, I need to pick it up. I can't keep struggling or remaining in an unchanging comfort zone where I may lead myself to overworking when, especially as a creative and an introvert, I need that downtime just to recoup and prepare for another week.

Getting there at least, bit by bit.

Fantastic:

Began this past week in an interesting manner with a rather large storm passing through with tornado force winds. Lots of power outages and such from this past Thursday. Normally, the weird little grid section we're on always goes out of power for one reason or another...or like how it was last month and it went out due to 'equipment failure' as the report had said. Anyway though, we retained power while the rest of the neighborhood that rarely looses power, lost it. It was out for nearly 2-3 days depending on location and my partner even had a day off of work due to the lack of power at his work place. So yeah, interesting week.

In other news, as of this post, I have completed this month's page count and am currently sitting on around 5 buffer pages, more if compared to the public posts, but Patreon is ahead so I base the count off of that. That's at least much better than were I was before and if all goes well, I may even be able to complete more soon too. I do still have a bit of other work to do this month before I can jump into extras, but for me, this is quite the improvement compared to the previous months. There's still plenty I need to do but am slowly getting through things bit by bit, so can't complain. I won't be taking on further work for this month, and thus will focus on the things I have left, so that's quite a first for me in a very long time.

Even postcards have been ordered and will be working on videos again here soon too, so hopefully should have more posts going on in other locations. I'm still rather low in terms of patrons and growing an audience and figuring out how to be better connected but something surely has to give one of these days. Till then, just going to be hammering away as I usually do. 

Lastly, due to the issues we've been having with what should be a new vehicle, we are trading it in for something different because it's honestly getting far too annoying with how many times we've had to take it for both major and minor problems that keep popping up. We'll be looking at something and this time, we did a deeper dive into our homework for it so hopefully this time, it will end up being something we keep and not have to take in every couple months for some weird noise or leaking or some electronical bit going out, etc. It won't be as fancy as the one we're turning in, so hopefully should eliminate all the electronical issues, which are more nuisance than problematic, but something that shouldn't be going on THIS fast.

On a much more bright and shiny note. Thanks to you guys, we've SMASHED the goal this month. This ended up being extra helpful as the prices of Mail Club postcards and things I order has gone way up due to the tariffs. So, sad to say, as much as I love the company I order my prints from, I'll have to find something else and go from scratch again because, unless the raise the goal by another chunk, I won't be earning enough to save and right now, with me being so close to finishing book 1, I need to be able to save that money so I can get books printed one day. That already is going to cost one heck of a pretty penny but I need to prepared. I've still got time, but no time like the present to prepare for the future. I already know that even with a kickstarter for the book, I cannot see it earning what it may need to get a few books printed simply because, as far as I notice and see from logs, the audience count is far too small for me to be able to raise enough. It's a sad fate at times, but it is what it is. I'll find a way though, one of these days.

Upholding this Schedule:

It's been 1 week since I've fully implemented this new work schedule and though had a couple days where I wasn't sure I'd make it, mostly because of personal desires to do other things instead, I still made it. Definitely learning I have no doubts in the fact that I function best in the morning. By the time evening comes, I'm desiring to do anything else that is not work related. However, I do understand the importance of what I'm aiming for and thus know I need to do better than I have been. If that means sacrificing the usual time I had used for games during the week, then so be it. I'm actually pulling decently ahead. Nearly everything I need or want to do within this month is done and we're not quite there to the half way point. I should have this month's merch done too around that time. Jobs have been currently cleared out, other than one that will be finished up today rather quickly since I did some over the weekend...but other than that, it's going to be largely prepping the rest of this month and hoping I can get the last 10% of the monthly goals covered. Just a wee bit more!

I am thinking that if they don't sell, especially given how much I tend to struggle selling characters right when I create them and share them, I may try to auction them. I know they're worth a lot more than what I have them listed for currently, but well, I'd like to reach my goal and not be too push about it either. They're not terribly complex designs as far as I feel.

Otherwise, I'm always looking for new Patreon Supporters! 

Cleaning up some additional content to share this week as well and will be opening reward slots for patrons this week too, which I find is always nice. Receiving artwork as a show of thanks from your favorite artist. Can't go wrong there as far as I feel.

It's also been slow lately so it would be great to pick things up. My supporters are my backbone after all and if the more support there is, the more attention I can give to Patreon rather than having to request commissions all the time to make the funds necessary for things like the Mail Club. I try as best as I can on my own, but right now, I simply cannot do it on my own when it comes to creating and selling artwork and receiving finances from it. One day I'm sure, but for now, I still need to keep asking.

Spring Rains!:

Now that we're largely into full spring mode here, that means some days have been pretty rainy, but on the upside, it spares me from needing to water the gardens that day. Overall this past week feels like it's been a nice success. I do feel on top of and even ahead in some areas regarding my owed art for this month and my goals toward art this month. It'll still require a bit of practice to reach the time frame I desire and to ensure I can keep it up without it triggering a burnout. I haven't had a burnout in over a decade now so don't really want to have one returning for any given reason. I am catching up on comic pages that I wish to finish for this year so that's at least good. Still have a lot of work to do, but for once, I am actually reaching the goal at least a few steps faster than before.

It's also seems to be good I have a job this month too since I'll need to cover more if I'm to make my usual desired expense for the month. Currently sitting at 49% complete over on my Ko-fi. I generally don't ask for donations so I do hope people will purchase something if I end up being a little slow in terms of getting the other merch out. Today will largely be a busy day for me, but still going to give it all a go. This week really feels like it's going to put me to the test, but on the other hand, I do feel ready for it for once.
